Ferro Felling Tree Service was established in 2012 by three brothers, Ryan, Brandon, and Aaron, who aimed to provide an affordable and dependable tree service for their small community. As you can imagine, word of mouth spread quickly in their area, allowing the business to spread its roots. By 2015, Ferro Felling shifted direction when the two younger brothers decided to sharpen their skills outside of the family company by becoming wildland firefighters with the Virginia Department of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service. For the next three years, Ryan and Luis (the Ferro boys’ father) would run the tree service part-time during the summer and full-time in the winter while the two youngest brothers fought fires across the West for six months at a time. During Aaron and Brandon’s summers working out West, they were trained and certified to identify tree species and diseases, improve their tree falling techniques, and safely fell hazardous trees severely damaged by wildfires. By the end of the fire season in 2017, Aaron and Brandon felt they had acquired the skills they set out to learn and decided to return home to manage Ferro Felling Tree Service full-time alongside Ryan and their father. From 2018 to the present day, Ferro Felling has been providing tree service in Amherst and throughout the state of Virginia, with the same goal they started with: to deliver affordable and dependable tree service in the safest way.
